Luv the Liv!

It’s no secret how much I love Lelo — they’ve fully won me over with the qual­ity and inno­va­tion that goes into each and every one of their won­der­ful toys! Not to men­tion that their toys are eco-friendly and rechar­gable — I love being able to live a lit­tle greener through my sex toys.

A while back, I reviewed the Lelo Gigi, a lovely lit­tle g-spot vibra­tor, and I loved it, but wished it was a lit­tle longer. Well, Babe­land was nice enough to send me the Lelo Liv, a medium sized vibra­tor slightly larger and a bit longer than the Gigi. The Liv lacks the angled head of the Gigi, but packs the same pow­er­ful and quiet motor into a slightly larger pack­age. It shares the same plas­tic and sil­i­cone body, so no sil­i­cone based lubes, but it does clean up eas­ily with soap and hot water. I was for­tu­nately enough to try out the navy blue ver­sion (it also comes in hot pink, which I also really like), and I was utterly charmed by the color. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a navy blue sex toy before — it was grown up and sophisi­cated with­out being too girl­ish or utterly pre­dictable (like many black sex toys). This is a toy that I wouldn’t mind some­one see­ing in my bed­room — it really does say ele­gance and class.

The con­trols for the Liv are pretty much iden­ti­cal to those of the Gigi — the dial on the base con­trols the strength and set­tings, and the toy can be locked to pre­vent it from turn­ing on at an inop­por­tune moment. I still wish more toys came with a fea­ture like that! The up and down but­tons con­trol the strength of the vibra­tions and the side to side but­tons cycle through sev­eral series of dif­fer­ent set­tings and pat­terns. I pre­fer my vibra­tions straight up, thank you very much, and as strong as I can stand, and the Liv did not dis­ap­point. While won­der­ful as a cli­toral vibra­tor, the tapered end of the Liv was per­fect for inser­tion and the extra length felt won­der­ful inside me.

I think my ideal vibra­tor would be one that com­bines the addi­tional length of the Liv with the angled head of the Gigi, because while I loved the Liv, I did miss the extra g-spot stim­u­la­tion. The Liv did make me come, but it wasn’t able to make me squirt and shriek like the Gigi did. Over­all, I still stand by what I said ear­lier, you can­not go wrong with Lelo, and the Lelo Liv is yet another won­de­ful exam­ple of Lelo’s supe­rior crafts­man­ship.
