Giving up Control — the Cleopatra.

I’ve been look­ing for a good remote con­trolled vibra­tor to add to my sex toy col­lec­tion for some time now. There aren’t a lot of them on the mar­ket, so find­ing a really good qual­ity one can be quite a chal­lenge! So when the lovely folks at sextoy.com offered to send me the Berman Cen­ter Cleopa­tra, I couldn’t wait to take it out for a night on the town with my hus­band, D.

Made pop­u­lar by Oprah, I’ve had pretty good luck with other Berman Cen­ter toys, and their new Aphrodite is sup­posed to be even bet­ter than my bed­room sta­ple, the Hitachi Magic Wand, so I had very high hopes for the Cleopa­tra. The Cleopa­tra is your basic bul­let vibe — small and egg shaped, it has a small loop on one end for removal/retrieval. It’s cov­ered with sil­i­cone and can be thor­oughly cleaned with antibac­te­r­ial soap and water. And it’s remote con­trolled! When I first opened the pack­ag­ing for the Cleopa­tra, I was like, whoa, it comes with a lot of bat­ter­ies. It comes with like, 12 watch bat­ter­ies, but when you con­sider that it takes 6 watch bat­ter­ies at a time and eats through bat­ter­ies like nobody’s busi­ness — 12 watch bat­ter­ies really isn’t that much. I really wish it took reg­u­lar bat­ter­ies, though. Buy­ing watch bat­ter­ies in such mass quan­ti­ties always earns me strange looks at the jew­elry counter and reg­u­lar bat­ter­ies are so much eas­ier to find.

The Cleopa­tra has a work­ing range of around 15 feet. So, I inserted the bul­let part, handed D the remote con­trols and we headed out for a night on the town. The bul­let feels really good, and only the high­est set­ting is loud and audi­ble. D had fun run­ning it through the seven dif­fer­ent cycles and watch­ing my reac­tions — he espe­cially loved the look on my face when he turned it all the way up. He kept it run­ning all through din­ner, dessert and drinks, and the vibra­tor kept on going strong until almost the very end. Towards the end of the evening, after about two hours of con­stant use, I could tell the bat­ter­ies were start­ing to wear down, and by the time we got home, they were com­pletely dead.

The Cleopa­tra was a lot of fun and made for some excel­lent drawn out fore­play! Even gen­tly clench­ing around the small vibrat­ing egg felt won­der­ful, and with the vibe turned onto a low speed, I was able to relax, sit back, and just enjoy the feel­ing of being at D’s mercy. He loved hav­ing that con­trol over me –turn­ing it off just when I was really get­ting into it, and turn­ing it up when the wait­ress came over to watch my cheeks flame red. We can’t wait to take it to the next play party we attend — D is threat­en­ing to pass the remote around the room so every­one can have a turn at turn­ing me on! We’ll just need to make sure we stock up on bat­ter­ies because it cer­tainly does go through them quickly!

Over­all, of all the remote con­trol bul­let vibes on the mar­ket that I’ve tried, so far, the Cleopa­tra is the best! Easy to use, dis­creet, with an inter­est­ing range of dif­fer­ent vibra­tion speeds and cycles — it’s a safe way to take play out of the bed­room and into the pub­lic sphere with­out involv­ing uncon­sent­ing adults in a pub­lic scene. We espe­cially love to use it to set the mood for a roman­tic evening turned wild and crazy! I still wish that it took dif­fer­ent bat­ter­ies, or even bet­ter, if it was rechar­gable. I’d love to see a rechar­gable remote con­trol bul­let vibe — because all of the bat­ter­ies we go through, they can’t be good for the envi­ron­ment. Maybe Lelo might even­tu­ally come up with some­thing like that? But until then, the Cleopa­tra is my pick — I would rec­om­mend it to any­one want­ing to try a bit of sexy fun out­side of the bedroom!
