These days, everyone seems to be talking about the Berman Center. With an endorsement from Oprah for their Aphrodite massager, and the fact that I’ve tried (and I love) their Anti-bacterial Spray Cleaner, I decided to give one of their toys a try. I chose the Juliet, a clitoral encaser vibe — it just sounded really interesting, and I love interesting toys that aren’t like everything else on the market. With a hard plastic circle on the end that is meant to encircle the clitoris, the Juliet is supposed to be the perfect clitoral toy “designed to encircle and encase the clitoris for precise pleasure that’s evenly distributed so the sensation isn’t too intense”.
I love clitorial stimulation, but I often run into a problem of over stimulation with stronger vibrators like the Hitachi. The direct stimulation is great until the moment I start to orgasm, then my clit is painfully sensitive and direct stimulation is more pain than pleasure, and not in a good way. When I first received the Juliet from PinkCherry.com, I was pleased to find that it was completely waterproof — I’m always looking for toys to play with in the shower. While I knew that the toy would be hard “body-friendly” plastic (which meant I could actually use it with silicone lube), I was kind of surprised by just how hard the plastic actually was. I had hoped that it would be a little softer, more yielding, but thought that maybe the harder plastic would help to transmit the vibrations. And it would be nice and easy to clean with antibacterial soap and water. I swiped two AAA batteries from my toy drawer, and I was ready to go.
I was desperate to orgasm. With D out of commission for the past two weeks, and my time of the month rapidly approaching, I wanted something quick, intense and satisfying. I applied a liberal amount of lube, turned the Juliet to its lowest setting and ran the end over my nether lips. It was a nice mild vibration, but I wanted more, so I quickly cycled up to one of the higher settings, parted my lips and located my throbbing clit. It was a little harder than I expected to get the circle perfectly centered around my clit. The first time, I had it turned sideways, and once I got it straightened out, I found that it kept turning on me.
The vibrations, were, however very nice. While not Hitachi strong, the combination of the vibrations teasing my clit felt great. But I wanted more, I wanted to come! And the vibrations just weren’t quite strong enough to get me there. I added my fingers to the equation, rubbing my clit and slit while keeping the Juliet on my clit. By concentrating on my breathing, and focusing on the sensation, I was able to come, but it wasn’t nearly as strong as I was hoping for. Afterwards, though, it felt fantastic — it was just the perfect amount of stimulation on my overstimulated clit, and I could just bask in the pleasure, riding out the waves much, much longer than I’ve ever been able to before.
I’m not writing off my Juliet, not by a long shot. I have a feeling that this toy has a lot of potential yet to be unlocked. I’m going to try it out in combination with other toys — I think that, paired with a nice g-spot vibe, it could be a truly amazing toy, and really teach me to harness the power of my own orgasm. It’s also a toy that I think I’ll be recommending to friends and family, especially those that I know have a hard time reaching orgasm, or haven’t ever reached orgasm, and need some help learning about their body and what makes them feel good. I’ll also be trying out some of the other Berman Center products — they seems like very well made products created with an actual understanding of what works for the female form. Thank you to the wonderful people at PinkCherry.com for giving me the opportunity to try out such an interesting and unique vibrator!
