Boy Butter — His n Hers Review

I must admit that I was more than a bit skep­ti­cal about review­ing a prod­uct called Boy But­ter, but I had heard good things and asked VibeRe­view to send me some to try out. Not exactly the best choice of names, and the lit­tle but­ter tub that the prod­uct comes in, well, it didn’t really help the whole men­tal image of mas­tur­bat­ing with Coun­try Crock. And the lit­tle tub was kind of messy — try­ing to get a lit­tle out of the tub was a sloppy endeavor, and the slip­pery stuff went all over the lid and the sides of the container.

In D’s own words: “Well where to begin.  Boy But­ter has a hor­ri­ble name, and the lit­tle but­ter tub con­tainer doesn’t help.  It spills a lit­tle too easy.  That’s all the neg­a­tives I can think of.  Of course, that is eas­ily solved by buy­ing the squeeze bottle.”

Despite the name, Boy But­ter is actu­ally a truly fab­u­lous prod­uct. Per­fectly thick and creamy with­out being too thick and cloy­ing, D tried it out first since we’d heard it was sup­pos­edly per­fect for male self-lovin’.

D really loved it: “This is the least sticky lube I have ever used.  For mas­tur­ba­tion pur­poses, this is def­i­nitely the go to lube.  It stays slick and is eas­ily cleaned up.  You can wipe it off, cleans quickly with a towel or water.  Also, doesn’t stain any­thing.  The easy clean up is a real bonus, it doesn’t feel like you’ve coated your crotch in rub­ber cement.”

He also really loved how it leaves behind no residue at all. It absorbs right into the skin just like hand lotion leav­ing the skin soft and sup­ple, won­der­ful to the touch.  But where I really liked Boy But­ter was dur­ing anal sex.  Most lubes that I’ve used before leave me sticky and yucky after sex. I always feel like I need another shower after anal sex because there’s no way to get all the sticky lube left­overs off. But, with Boy But­ter, there was just enough slick­ness to last the entirety of the act, and after­wards there was no yucky feel­ing, noth­ing at all. I really loved using Boy But­ter!

D on anal sex: “Now here is where Boy But­ter shines.  This is the ulti­mate anal lube.  We have used many water­based and sil­i­cone based lubes.  All have dried out sooner or later.  This has every­one of these lubes beat, hands down.  It doesn’t drip every­where, it stays where it is sup­posed to and makes the slick­est sur­face I’ve felt yet.  It’s like teflon for sex.  Noth­ing makes anal sex bet­ter.  Plus, I’ve had more anal sex since we received the lube than in a long time.  Coin­ci­dence?  I think not.”

Sooo true. While I’ve always enjoyed anal, the per­va­sive feel­ing of ick after­wards has always kept me from ini­ti­at­ing it. But this past week, between the Boy But­ter and my new favorite lil buttplug, I think I finally under­stand what Wendy has been say­ing all along.

Between the two of us, we’ve tested out at least a dozen dif­fer­ent lubes, but none that we have liked as well as this. D and I have agreed that this is a lube that we’re going to buy again. Granted, when we buy it, we’ll be get­ting the squeeze bot­tle (so much eas­ier to get the right amount with­out get­ting it all over the con­tainer). But Boy But­ter will def­i­nitely be a sta­ple of our sex life and has earned its own place on our nightstand!

EDIT: I should prob­a­bly men­tion that this prod­uct is oil based, and there­fore should not be used with latex gloves or latex con­doms. How­ever, on their web­site, I have seen a water-based ver­sion, though I don’t know how it com­pares to the orig­i­nal. How­ever, we have used it suc­cess­fully for vagi­nal sex and fist­ing with no adverse side effects — though I don’t know how fea­si­ble this would’ve been if we weren’t fluid-bonded. Just FYI…
